EXHIBITION STATEMENT

Since the Dawn of civilization, the concept of play or games has been central to the experience of human life. From religious Mesoamerican ball games to Call of Duty the ideas of triumph and overcoming are core to who we are. Mind Games is an interactive community-forward exhibition that asks attendees to at once experience the joy and nostalgia of games but also to question the games we participate in on a daily basis by choice or not.

A selection of brand-new work from Chicago based artist Anthony Bartley including paintings, custom arcade cabinets, and custom developed games will anchor the community-focused event alongside other artists and makers. A selection of public and private activations will ask attendees to play and consider the importance of maintaining links to their inner child.

Each Mind Games Pop-Up will take place in a different city throughout the US. The first took place on Feb 27th and 28th in LA during LA Art Week.
